What the..? Porsche 550 Spyder mounted on the wall
Miami Herald writes about a local real estate developer who mounted a 1950 Porsche 550 Spyder right above the door of his 8000-square-foot condo inside Trump Palace.
They call the 34 year old Mr. Dezer a “Porsche fanatic” who owns eight cars of that make. We think Mr. Dezer is just a rich dude with bunch of cars who has no idea about the Porsche marque.
First of all Porsche did not build the 550 Spyder in 1950, it was made between 1953-1956. Owner of such a rare car should know that, especially if he considers himself a true Porsche fanatic.
“Anyone who knows Gil knows that he is a Porsche purist,” said Sebastian Tettamanti, Dezer’s friend. “It’s no wonder he now has one hanging in his living room.”
Dezer said he chose to hang the Porsche Spyder 550 because it is a car that is nice to look at but not as much fun to drive.
Why would anyone remove the engine and a transmission from a Porsche 550 Spyder and mount it on the wall? Looks like Dezer is just a rich poser not a guy who we would call a Porsche fanatic.
Don’t hate Mr. Dezer for what he did, as he probably has no idea what he has on his wall. The car is just a replica(article says it is valued at $80,000) not an original 550 Spyder, which can sell for seven figure sums. Who knows maybe Dezer bought the car honestly believing it is an original Porsche 550 Spyder?
