Volkswagen presents new 3-cylinder TDI at the Vienna Motor Symposium

Volkswagen has unveiled a new three-cylinder turbodiesel engine at the 31st Vienna Motor Symposium. The new 1.2-liter TDI with 3 cylinders produces 74 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm.
This new fuel efficient engine will debut later this year in the new Polo BlueMotion. Expected fuel economy is an impressive 71.3 mpg (3.3 liters per 100 km), with 87 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometer.
