Rumors of the ultimate Veyron have been circulating for years. Now that the production of this 1,000 horsepower luxury supercar is almost at its end rumors about an even more powerful version are back.

According to BugattiPassion.com the final version of the Veyron will produce 1,200 horsepower and weigh 300 kg (660 lbs) less than the standard Veyron.

Dubbed Veyron Super Sport, like the EB110 from 1990s and Type 55 from 1930s, it is rumored to make its debut in August at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.

With 200 extra horsepower and trimmed weight it is expected to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.2 seconds, while the top speed is 425 km/h (264 mph). Only 30 cars will be built, with prices starting from €1.5 million ($1.8M).
