To mark the 28th anniversary of one of the marque’s least successful cars, Alfa Romeo have once again got together with Nissan to bring us a new Alfa Arna.

The original Arna was the birth child of a wonderful period in motoring history- when styling meant little and arriving anywhere on time was optional. Though original Arnas weren’t without their problems: what you got was a car designed by Nissan, with the electrics done by Alfa Romeo’s crack team of “experts”, it was often referred to as being “shit.” Alfa Romeo maintain they have learned from their mistakes, and this time the luxury and fun elements of the car will be developed by Nissan and Alfa will provide the aftermarket support they are known for worldwide.

The Arna2 will be available in three styles:

“Falso Tannio” (Luxury, 1.6 Litre Petrol 141hp engine)

“Midlif Crisios” (Sport, 2.0 V6 Petrol 243hp engine)

“Economici Bastardo” (Basic 1.0 diesel 52hp engine found by the side of the road)

Arna2’s chief designer, Angelos Faustaupippetti says that the car is a unique blend of “passion, style, romance and other things we usually say in the brochures.”

The Arna2 is due to go into production a year from now, on April 1st, 2012.
