The 2011 SMS 302 Mustang represents the second in the trio of SMS American Supercars, which will be followed by the introduction of the 2011 SMS 620 Camaro later this year.

At first, Steve Saleen’s company will offer two SMS 302 versions, the SMS 302 4V with a normally aspirated 5.0L engine, followed by the SMS 302SC.

The SMS 302 4V is powered by a naturally aspirated twin overhead cam 5.0L V8 engine with over 440 hp and 400 ft-lb of torque.

The SMS 302SC will produce over 535 hp and 450 ft-lb of torque. Transmission options for both are a 6-speed Automatic or a 6-Speed TR3650 Manual.

Regular 2011 SMS 302 4V will accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. Quarter mile time is 13.5 seconds at a speed of 116 mph. The SMS 302SC reaches 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, and a quarter mile in 12.1 seconds at 119 mph.

Other highlights are SMS S4 High Performance Suspension, Pirelli PZero High Performance tires, 20-inch alloys, side skirts, new front and rear fascia, new rear diffuser and upgraded interior with Alcantara and alumium trim.

Each SMS 302 will be personally signed by Steve Saleen, and also receives matching serialized SMS VIN on the engine bay plaque, dash plaque and front bumper for authentication.
