2011 Mercedes CL-Class comes with more power and improved fuel economy
2011 Mercedes-Benz CL550 4Matic is powered by a new 429-hp V8 biturbo engine which achieves a 10-15% improvement in fuel economy and 23% improvement in CO2 emissions. Even though its displacement is now 4.7-liters(down by 0.8 liters compared to 2010 MY) it offers 12 percent more power than its predecessor.
The CL550 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, down by 0.5 seconds compared to previous model. The luxury coupes also controls the alternator depending on the type of driving and on-board voltage. Kinetic energy is recuperated in the overrun mode.
Top of the range CL600 is powered by a 12-cylinder biturbo engine with 512 hp and 612 lb-ft. of torque. 60 mph comes in just 4.5 seconds. Visually this luxury coupe has received a new bumper, new lights, revised grille and LED turn indicators.
Safety features include Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Adaptive High Beam Assist system, Attention Assist and Active Body Control.
